Erectile dysfunction medicines seized in Glengormley

Large quantities of unlicensed medications have actually been taken by of Health officials during a search of a house in Glengormley.

A male was talked to by department officers about unlawfully importing and consequently providing unlicensed impotence medicines through the web.

The 47-year-old was also questioned about other medication offences.

He will now be the subject of a report to the Public Prosecution Service.

The search was performed by the department's Medicines Regulatory Group.

Its senior enforcement workplace, Peter Moore, stated: "It is essential that we get the message throughout that unlicensed medicines can be harmful.

"These types of items being sold, typically online, have gone through no quality assurance and there can be no guarantee about their safety.

"You simply do not understand what you are taking or the conditions these products were made in. More importantly, you do not know the result drugs like this might have on your health."
